Farnborough International Airshow 2020

The World's Greatest Airshow

The Aviation Industry Hub

The Farnborough Story

Farnborough has a rich history in aviation with the very first powered flight in 1908 by Samuel Cody having taken off from here. It was also home to the historic Royal Aircraft Establishment where Sir Frank Whittle conducted much of his research into jet aircraft.

The world-famous Farnborough International Airshow has been held at the airfield at Farnborough since 1948 and over the decades has showcased many pioneering triumphs in aerospace.

Today the 5-day international Airshow continues to be a launch platform for aviation innovation and new aircraft and welcomes over 100,000 people through its gates every two years.

In 2008 Farnborough International created its venue business to maximise its 100,000 sqm site outside of the Airshow, by opening a 3,000 sqm permanent venue building where it hosts a variety of events throughout the year.

In March 2018, Hall 1 opened: a new permanent conference and exhibition facility, offering 20,000 sqm of flexible event space.

We are on an exciting journey and our aim is to make Farnborough International not only famous for delivering airshows but also for hosting world-class events in the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference centre.
